Some Remarks on the Invariant Subspace Problem for Hyponormal Operators

We make some remarks concerning the invariant subspace problem for hyponormal operators. In particular, we bring together various hypotheses that must hold for a hyponormal operator without nontrivial invariant subspaces, and we discuss the existence of such operators. 2000 Mathematics Subject Classification. 47B20, 47A15. Let be a separable, infinite-dimensional, complex Hilbert space and deno...

Lomonosov’s Invariant Subspace Theorem for Multivalued Linear Operators

The famous Lomonosov’s invariant subspace theorem states that if a continuous linear operator T on an infinite-dimensional normed space E “commutes” with a compact operator K 6= 0, i.e., TK = KT, then T has a non-trivial closed invariant subspace. We generalize this theorem for multivalued linear operators. We also provide some applications to singlevalued linear operators.

About Subspace-Frequently Hypercyclic Operators

In this paper, we introduce subspace-frequently hypercyclic operators. We show that these operators are subspace-hypercyclic and there are subspace-hypercyclic  operators that are not subspace-frequently hypercyclic. There is a criterion like to subspace-hypercyclicity criterion that implies subspace-frequent hypercyclicity and if an operator $T$ satisfies this criterion, then $Toplus T$ is sub...

Translation-invariant bilinear operators with positive kernels

We study L (or Lr,∞) boundedness for bilinear translation-invariant operators with nonnegative kernels acting on functions on R. We prove that if such operators are bounded on some products of Lebesgue spaces, then their kernels must necessarily be integrable functions on R, while via a counterexample we show that the converse statement is not valid. We provide certain necessary and some suffic...

On linear operators with an invariant subspace of functions

Let us denote V, the finite dimensional vector spaces of functions of the form ψ(x) = pn(x)+ f(x)pm(x) where pn(x) and pm(x) are arbitrary polynomials of degree at most n andm in the variable x while f(x) represents a fixed function of x. Conditions onm,n and f(x) are found such that families of linear differential operators exist which preserve V. A special emphasis is accorded to the cases wh...
